Accommodation
Skipton Estate is home to a magnificent Historic House set within the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, our 3,000-acre Estate is a wondrous mix of rolling meadow pastures, ancient woodland, heather moorland, wild reservoirs and meandering rivers. The 17 bedrooms are all wonderfully furnished, and each enjoy individual character. The impressive bathrooms carry delightful charm of their own – from walk-in marble showers and comfortable roll top baths to spacious and uniquely decorative havens. The magnificent state rooms lend themselves to formal gatherings as well as being homely places to relax and enjoy a rich history of human endeavour. The sumptuous Green Drawing Room, the impressive Library, and the warm Red Drawing room provide guests with a perfect backdrop for events.
Location
Home to one of England's best-preserved medieval castles and gateway to the southern Dales, this busy market town takes its name from the Anglo-Saxon sceape ton (sheep town). There are no prizes for guessing how it made its money. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday are market days, bringing crowds from all over and giving the town something of a festive atmosphere.
